Assabet Valley Celebrates Renovation Managed by CTA Construction

MARLBOROUGH – CTA Construction Co. Inc. joined with the Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School community to celebrate the recent completion of extensive renovations to modernize and upgrade the school building. Based in Waltham, CTA Construction served as general contractor in updating the 42-year-old facility.

“We congratulate the Assabet Valley community for making this important investment in the school, and we thank the administration, teachers, staff and students for their cooperation as we tried to minimize disruptions to the school days yet still meet our deadlines,” said Paul DuRoss, Project Executive at CTA Construction Co.

The Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School, first opened in 1973, is a 370,000-square-foot facility on 90 acres in Marlborough. CTA was responsible for a construction budget of $47 million that included upgrades and renovations to the building done in multiple phases over three years.

Modernization included new roofing, windows, doors, HVAC system, emergency generator, life-safety systems, ADA compliance, science classrooms, plumbing, lighting systems, and architectural upgrades.

CTA collaborated with architect Design Partnership of Cambridge and the owner’s project manager Colliers International on the project, and phased the construction schedule to minimize the impact on school operations and to keep construction activities separated from the occupied areas of the school.
