The Burrell Elementary School project consists of a phased renovation of the entire existing building and new additions for Pre-K classrooms and a Gymnasium for a total area of 62,000 GSF. The building was partially occupied during construction and renovations. The new construction areas were used as swing space during the renovation phases. In addition to work within the building, the project includes extensive site activities and utility upgrades.
The Renovation Scope includes:
- Installation of new ducted ventilation systems
- New radiation heating system
- Complete replacement of the boilers and controls
- Full facility accessibility upgrade, including toilet rooms and door openings
- Complete renovation of kitchen including exhaust hood, equipment, walk-in cooler and freezer
- Replacement of electrical distribution, telephone, public address and surveillance systems
- Replacement of plumbing distribution and fixtures
- Replacement of all exterior doors and windows
- New casework, floor, wall and ceiling finishes
- Hazardous material abatement
- Interior masonry and metal stud wall rework and replacement
- Installation of a new fire suppression system.
