The project consists of a new 142,537 gross square foot, 2 & 3 story middle school building to serve 700 students in grades 6-8. The construction of the new building is on land adjacent to the existing Sanborn Middle School. The new building features a two-story wing housing a gymnasium, 240-seat cafeteria, 420-seat auditorium, and media center. A three-story academic wing, connected by a fully enclosed bridge, houses the majority of the general classrooms. This project has an EUI target of 25 or better and is photovoltaic ready and Net- Zero energy ready. The building features all-electric heating and cooling systems and is LEED v4 certifiable. The existing school is in full operation during the construction.
